James E. Engle, Sr.

James E. “Jim” Engle, Sr., 72, of Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Paul Arthur Engle and Jean Louise Grimes. He was married 43 years to Linda M. (Ruhl) Engle prior to her passing in 2017.

Jim was a graduate of Cedar Crest High School. Soon after, he opened Engle’s Body Shop in Lebanon in 1970, which is still in operation today. He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed visiting car shows, auctions, and public sales. Jim was an extremely hard worker, but when he had a free moment, he enjoyed trips to Maryland at the lake cottage and spending time with his family.

Jim is survived by 2 sons: James E. Engle, Jr. (Sharry) and Jay A. Engle; and 2 siblings: Paul Engle (Emily) and Jenny Betz (Kevin).

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Cornwall UMC, 50 Freeman Dr, Lebanon, PA 17042. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Cornwall Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Jim’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
