James Ralph "Jim" O'Neil, 78, of Newmanstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Lebanon VA Hospital. Born in Geneva, New York, he was the son of the late Oscar and Ruth Laws O'Neil. Jim was the loving husband of Susan Breitung O'Neil, and they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. A veteran, he proudly served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He worked as a safety specialist in Canandaigua, New York before moving to Pennsylvania and working at the Lebanon VA.

Jim and Sue thoroughly enjoyed traveling and successfully made two cross-country trips in their RV; enjoying the world all around them. He was a fierce New York Yankees fan, even after relocating and also served as a volunteer firefighter for Northside Fire Company Geneva, where he also served as Chief for a period of time. You could often find Jim watching a good Hallmark movie, listening to Celtic Music, or baking his famous scones. Jim and Sue held an annual 4th of July party where they enjoyed the friendship of close friends and family. Jim was known to be a quiet man but would often come up with a zinger or two. Throughout his life he had many fur babies with his wife Sue that they had rescued over the years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He preceded in passing by his siblings, Marjorie, Mary, Becki, George, Bill, and his niece, Alice.

Services will be announced at a later date. Those desiring may send memorial contributions in Jim's memory to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County or to Cure PSP. To send the family online condolences please visit, www.snyderbeanfuneralhome.com.
