Omar Shabazz Payne

Omar Shabazz Payne, 60, of Lebanon, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2026. Born in Chester, PA, he was the son of Elizabeth "Betty" Cottman and the late Junie Payne.

Omar was a graduate of Chester High School and worked many years as a skilled welder. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Omar was extremely passionate about his religion and spreading the word of God. He was hard-working and could make or fix anything with just his two hands. He enjoyed Cadillacs and had a great sense of humor and a loud laugh.

Omar is survived by four children: Amari Payne, Destiny Callipari, Nefra Payne, and Wilal Smith; four siblings: John Cottman, Jimmy Cottman (Gloria), Brian Cottman (Rhonda), and Kysha Payne (Clarence); as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three siblings: Karen Cottman, June DeCosta, and Eric Cottman.

A graveside service with military honors will be held in the near future at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA 17003.
