Mt. Gretna

Patricia Ann Graham

Patricia Ann “Pat” Graham, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and cherished member of the Mt. Gretna community, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at the age of 97.

Born on July 10, 1928, in Homer City, Pennsylvania, Pat was the daughter of Edward and Leone O’Hare Miller. She grew up alongside her sister, Marguerite “Peggy” Beatty, who predeceased her, in a home that valued education, hard work, and deep faith. Guided by her mother’s devout Catholic beliefs, Pat developed a lifelong spiritual devotion that shaped every chapter of her life.

Pat attended the University of Pennsylvania, where she began her career as a head nurse, later continuing her education at the Wharton School of Business. Her commitment to lifelong learning led her to earn an additional nursing degree from Villanova University later in life.

She often said that divine grace brought her together with her beloved husband, John “Jack” Darlington Graham, a Harrisburg native whom she met while working as a nurse. They married in 1958 and began a beautiful partnership that spanned 67 years, raising five children and living from coast to coast as Jack’s career flourished. They also had the opportunity to travel the world together.

In 1974, the couple moved to Villanova, Pennsylvania, where they became deeply embedded in the community and their church, and grew lifelong friendships. A marvelous cook and hostess, Pat kept detailed records of all the events she hosted and the menus she served. After Jack’s retirement, the couple settled in Mt. Gretna, Pennsylvania, where they found a close-knit and loving community. Pat’s kindness, faith and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

Pat devoted her life to her children: John O. Graham and his wife Kara, Kathleen Graham and her late husband Rob Cook, Patrick Richardson Graham and his wife Mary, Christine Juarez and her husband Armando, and Michael Graham and his late wife Corinna Skema Snyder.

Her greatest joy came from her 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who brought endless pride and happiness into her life.

Pat was wired for volunteerism and community service. She served on several boards and committees, organized numerous auctions and fundraisers, and was especially passionate about supporting Pennsylvanians for Human Life, an organization whose mission reflected her deep respect for faith and the sanctity of life.

She will be remembered for her super human drive, love of routine, bubbling laugh, unwavering faith, and boundless love for her family. Patricia’s legacy of grace, perseverance, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 2596 Cornwall Road, Cornwall PA 17016, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.

Interment will be private at Mount St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Emmitsburg, Maryland. Those desiring may send memorial contributions in Pat’s memory to Pennsylvanians for Human Life, 590 Snyder Ave, West Chester, PA 19382.
