Sue Elvada Mills

Sue Elvada Mills, was welcomed into the open arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Cedar Haven. Born in Greenville, Pa to the late Alfred Willis and Gladys Julia Stoll Small. She found the love of her life, William J. “Bill” Mills and the two of them were married for over 50 years until Bill’s passing in 2015. She spent many Sunday mornings attending services at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Robesonia. Sue often joked that she owned “half a fire truck” because of her contributions to the Robesonia Fire Company at their Monday night Bingo games! Sue was active in her community as a member and past president of Robesonia Woman’s Club, Bicentennial Committee, Church Consistory, and Church Women's Group. She was active in her children’s activities as a 4-H Leader and Boy Scout Leader. She also attended Red Hat activities and Good Sam Auxiliary luncheons. In her 91 years, through all her accomplishments, she still found time to do the things she loved such as traveling to 49 out of the 50 states and earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.

Sue took great pride in her education, and it started at an early age. Graduating from Penn High School, Greenville, Pa, obtaining her Bachelors in Pre Med and Math Education from Thiel College. Sue then taught at Greenville High School for several years before beginning her Master’s work at Penn State University. Her Master’s Degree in Secondary Administration was conferred in 1968. After her marriage, Sue & Bill relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where Sue continued educating those around her and expanding the minds of students in advanced mathematics. She was a woman of leadership and was an Advisor of National Honor Society and Senior Class advisor in numerous teaching positions.

Sue was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a Past Matron of Conrad Weiser Chapter #449. Sue was also a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem and a Past Worthy High Priestess of that organization.

She leaves behind those who she spent her life loving, a daughter, Julia, wife of Kevin Organtini, a son, W. Jay, husband of Debra Mills, four grandchildren, three nieces, a nephew and two cousins. She is now reunited with those who left this world too early, her son, John W. Mills, and her sisters, Mary Ann Small and Julia Agnes Melvin. Her life was filled with many accomplishments but her biggest accomplishment was the family she loved and nurtured with her husband.
