Wilhelmina P. Miller December 1, 1925 – September 5, 2025
Wilhelmina Peischl Miller, formerly of Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 99 at Stoneridge Towne Center in Myerstown. She was the beloved wife of Edgar J. Miller, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.
Born on December 1, 1925, in Ollersdorf, Austria, Wilhelmina was the daughter of the late Rosa Peischl Seltzer and Ludwig Peischl. In 1931, she immigrated to the United States with her family, settling in Orwigsburg, PA. Known affectionately as "Wilma" to her friends, she began her career as a bank teller in Orwigsburg, where she later trained her future husband to take her position upon his return from World War II.
A dedicated entrepreneur, Wilma owned and operated the Tiny Tot Shop in Orwigsburg before relocating with her family to Lebanon. There, she became a devoted member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, where she played a vital role in launching and teaching in the church’s “Boost” program for underprivileged children. Her service extended beyond the church walls—she also served as president of Oakview Retirement Home in Lebanon and volunteered extensively at Good Samaritan Hospital alongside her husband.
Wilma’s passion for helping others was evident in her tireless work with the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. Together with Edgar, she opened her home to many foster children through Family and Children Services while raising a loving family of her own.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Mary Diane of Palmyra; sons Dr. Thomas Edgar Miller (wife Carol) of Gulfport, FL; Stephen John Miller (wife Betty) of Lebanon; and James Jason Miller (wife Susie) of Lebanon. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Margaret T. Peischl, and her brother, Richard Peischl.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Wilhelmina’s memorial service on Monday, September 22, at 11:30 AM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 600 S. 12th Street, Lebanon, PA 17042. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wilhelmina’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
