Jim Porterfield, a respected funeral director in the Lebanon community for over five decades, served as the Supervisor of the funeral home located at 890 Isabel Drive in Lebanon bearing Jim’s name. Since beginning his career in 1972 with the Rohland Funeral Home, Jim has built a reputation for compassionate care and professionalism. Over the years, he has held leadership roles, mentored fellow funeral directors, and assisted neighboring funeral homes, including the Clauser Funeral Home in Schaefferstown.

Recognizing the need for a modern funeral home with an on-site crematory, Jim established Porterfield Funeral Home in Cornwall Township. Situated at 890 Isabel Drive, the location offers a serene setting just outside the city, with the convenience of ample parking and accessibility. Since its inception, the funeral home has become a trusted space for families to honor and celebrate their loved ones.

Honoring a Proud Heritage

The ownership of Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory is rooted in the rich history of the Snyder and Bean families, both of whom bring generations of experience in funeral services. The Bean family’s ties to Lebanon County date back to the early 1800s, with a long-standing tradition of community involvement. Near Swatara and Jonestown, PA, the historic Bunker Hill Evangelical Congregational Church stands on land once part of the Bean family farm. The Bean family donated both the land and beautiful stained glass windows, which remain intact to this day, as a gift to the community.

Kevin Bean’s family has a rich legacy in funeral care, including the ownership of Rohland Funeral Home by the Krum family. Kevin’s great-grandmother was the grandmother of Mizpah ("M.B.") Krum, who purchased Rohland Funeral Home from Mr. Roland. Mizpah, along with his son Robert, owned and managed the funeral home for two generations until 1995. This enduring connection to the Rohland Funeral Home and the Krum family reflects decades of dedication to serving the Lebanon community.

Charles F. “Chad” Snyder III and the Snyder family, known for their Charles F. Snyder Funeral Homes in Lancaster County, has also earned a reputation for excellence in funeral service and is well-regarded in the Lancaster County, Lititz and the Lebanon areas. Together, the Snyder and Bean families are honored to continue the legacy of high standards and compassionate care, ensuring that Snyder Bean Funeral Home & Crematory remains a trusted resource for families in Lebanon County for years to come.
